體延長而側扁。吻短。眼中大，眼眶後緣無乳突。口較大，稍傾斜。上下頜齒細小，前端具犬齒。下及間鰓蓋骨下緣具鋸齒。體被小櫛鱗；側線完全，側線鱗數45-52；上頜不具鱗；各鰭亦不具鱗。背鰭連續，具硬棘X，軟條15-17，第II及III背鰭棘間不凹入，第VII-X背鰭棘最長；臀鰭硬棘III枚，軟條7-8；腹鰭腹位，延伸至臀鰭或不及；胸鰭軟條18-20；尾鰭彎月形，雄魚上下葉延長如絲。體背部橘黃色，背側偏淡紫紅色，腹部淡白；由眼下方至胸鰭基部具一條白色窄斜帶；雄魚尾鰭紅色，上下葉淡紫色，體中部側線下方至胸鰭上方具一條紅色短窄紅橫帶；雌魚尾鰭上下葉末端紅色。

Identifikasie

Morfologia
Hàbitat
És un peix marí de clima tropical i associat als esculls de corall que viu entre 10-91 m de fondària,[6] tot i que, normalment, ho fa entre 10-60.[7][4]
Distribució geogràfica
Es troba des de l'Àfrica Oriental fins a Samoa, les Illes de la Línia, el sud del Japó[8] i la Gran Barrera de Corall.[5][4]

Pseudanthias cooperi, the red-bar anthias is a Pseudanthias fish from the Indo-Pacific Ocean that occasionally makes its way into the aquarium trade. It grows to a size of 14 cm in length.[2]
Etymology
The identity of the person honoured in the specific name is not specified in Regan's account but it is thought to be Clive Forster Cooper (1880-1947), who was a member of the expedition on which the type was collected in the Maldives.[3]

分布
本魚分布於印度太平洋區，從東非、南非、葉門、塞席爾群島、模里西斯、馬爾地夫、英屬印度洋領地、可可群島、印度、日本、臺灣、印尼、關島、澳洲、庫克群島、新喀里多尼亞、帛琉、馬紹爾群島、密克羅尼西亞、吉里巴斯、東加等海域。

水深10至91公尺。
特徵
本魚體側扁，吻略圓鈍，雄魚體色為淺粉紅色，頭部、背部及尾鰭為粉紅色，側線上緣有一銀白色縱帶，從頭頂延伸至尾部，體色有一紅色的不規則斑塊，吻部、背鰭邊緣及尾鰭上下葉邊緣為亮藍色，胸鰭及腹鰭帶紫色，尾鰭成琴尾狀。雌魚體為橘紅色，下頷銀白色，尾鰭分叉，背鰭硬棘10枚；背鰭軟條15至17枚；臀鰭硬棘3枚；臀鰭軟條7至8枚，體長可達14公分。
生態
本魚棲息在礁石區，喜在強流活動，屬肉食性，以浮游動物為食，雄魚具有領域性，為一夫多妻制，若族群中雄魚死亡，第一順位的雌魚會性轉變為雄魚。
經濟利用
可做為觀賞魚。
