Distribució geogràfica

Es troba des de la Península de Baixa Califòrnia (Mèxic) fins a les Illes Galápagos.^[3]

Coryphopterus urospilus is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van grondels (Gobiidae).^[2] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1938 door Ginsburg.

De soort staat op de Rode Lijst van de IUCN als niet bedreigd, beoordelingsjaar 2007.^[1]
