Chromis unipa Allen & Erdmann 2009

This species is distinguished by the following characters: D XIV,11; A II,11; pectoral rays 18; spiniform caudal rays 3; tubed lateral-line scales 14-17; gill rakers 7-8 + 19-20 = 27-28; depth of body 2.0-2.2 in SL; sides of body with alternating blue grey and brassy yellow stripes; abdomen and lower part of head blue grey; fins are bluish except the base of caudal fin which is brown; apex of anal fin with a prominent black spot (Ref. 82433).

Life history characteristics for the family specify that this group is oviparous, with distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
