The black flounder (Rhombosolea retiaria), also known by the Māori language name mohoao,[2] is a flatfish of the genus Rhombosolea, found around New Zealand in shallow enclosed waters and coastal freshwater lakes. Its adult length ranges from 20 to 45 cm.

Rhombosolea retiaria is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van schollen (Pleuronectidae).[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1874 door Hutton.
