The longest canines of the lower jaw are confined to the anterior third of the toothed area. Coloration is a uniform tan with a conspicuous white margin on the fins.Description: Characterized by body depth at gill opening 14-23 in TL; relatively high dorsal fin; origin of dorsal fin about midway between corner of mouth and gill opening; anus anterior to middle of body; slender and hooked jaws; single row of three very long canines in front of upper jaw alternating with tiny teeth; median row of three elongate canines; side of jaw with inner row of lesser canines; front of lower jaw with outer row of small teeth inner row of three canines on each side; funnel-shaped tip of tubular anterior nostril (Ref. 90102).

體延長而呈圓柱狀，尾部側扁。吻部尖長。前鼻管呈漏斗狀，後鼻孔不為長管狀。頜部尖長且呈鉤狀，頜齒在下頜前半部兩排，上頜內側者較為尖長，嘴閉合時頜齒依然外露。脊椎骨數139-142。背鰭、臀鰭帶有黃白邊。

Enchelycore schismatorhynchus is a moray eel found in coral reefs in the Pacific and Indian Oceans.[2] It was first named by Bleeker in 1853,[2] and is commonly known as the white-margined moray, brown moray eel, or the funnel-nostril moray.[3]
Distribution and habitat
It is found in depths of 5–35 metres (16–115 ft) in tropical habitats.

Vissen Enchelycore schismatorhynchus is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van murenen (Muraenidae).[2] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1853 door Bleeker.
De soort staat op de Rode Lijst van de IUCN als niet bedreigd, beoordelingsjaar 2009.[1]
