Seedlings of the Siberian Pine (Pinus sibirica) growing in a very typical cluster: they hatched from a stash of pine nuts made by a Nutcracker, Nucifraga caryocatactes. The Russian name of the bird, , comes from - Siberian pine.

Pinus bungeana, native to China.The needles are two to four inches long, somewhat sharp/stiff, not densely clustered, and in bundles of three. Single-leaf Pinyon Pine cones. These pines have one of the largest seeds(up to over an inch long) of pine in the world, and were an important part of the Native American diet. You can still buy them in the store after a good harvest year, although they aren't cheap since they have to be gathered from wild trees.
