El Pirineo. Sallent de Gllego: Aragn (Espaa)Familia: PINACEAEDistribucin: Endemismo del SW europeo con rea en el C y W de los Alpes, Pirineos y Sistema Ibrico, con lmite W en Soria y S en Teruel; en Aragn se conoce del Alto Pirineo, umbras del Prepirineo y Sierra de Gdar.Hbitat: Se sita en el nivel superior de los pisos de vegetacin arbrea, donde la innivacin puede ser abundante y prolongada. Es la ms higrfila de las especies de Pinus en Espaa.Preferencia edfica: Indiferente. Es indiferente a la naturaleza del sustrato y con frecuencia coloniza terrenos pedregosos, rocosos, incluso higroturbosos.
