GENERAL INFORMATION ON DISTRIBUTION GENERAL DISTRIBUTION:
Newberry's cinquefoil occurs from south-central Washington, south through eastern Oregon to northeast California and northwest Nevada [2]. NatureServe provides a distributional map of Newberry's cinquefoil.

HABITAT TYPES AND PLANT COMMUNITIES:
Newberry's cinquefoil is most commonly found in sagebrush (Artemisia spp.) and juniper (Juniperus spp.) woodland communities [11,14,15].

Newberry's cinquefoil is a community dominant in the following vegetation types in Oregon:

  • silver sagebrush (Artemisia cana)/Newberry's cinquefoil/mat muhly (Muhlengergia richardsonis)-Baltic rush (Juncus balticus)-sedge (Carex spp.)[14].
  • silver sagebrush/bottlebrush squirreltail (Elymus elymoides spp. elymoides)-Newberry's cinquefoil
  • Newberry's cinquefoil
  • sedge-Baltic rush-Newberry's cinquefoil
  • lupine (Lupinus spp.)-Newberry's cinquefoil-mat muhly-Baltic rush-sedge
  • beethistle (Eryngium articulatum)-Newberry's cinquefoil-smartweed (Polygonum spp.)-navarretia (Navarretia spp.)
  • Baltic rush-mat muhly-Newberry's cinquefoil-tansyleaf evening primrose (Camissonia tanacetifolia ssp. tanacetifolia)-lupine
  • mat muhly-Newberry's cinquefoil-willow dock (Rumex salicifolius)
  • silver sagebrush/Newberry's cinquefoil-bottlebrush squirreltail [11].
  • bottlebrush squirreltail-Newberry's cinquefoil [12]
