Lymantria lunata, the luna gypsy moth, is a moth of the family Erebidae. The species was first described by Caspar Stoll in 1782. It is found in Southeast Asia, from India to the northeast coast of Australia.
The wingspan is about 60 mm. The body is brown and the wings are white with a pattern of brown lines on the forewings.
The larvae have been recorded feeding on Mangifera indica, Buchanania muelleri and Ficus benjamina.

Lymantria lunata is een nachtvlinder uit de familie van de spinneruilen (Erebidae), onderfamilie donsvlinders (Lymantriinae).
Het mannetje heeft een voorvleugellengte van 23 tot 26 millimeter, het vrouwtje van 3 5tot 37 millimeter. De vleugels zijn wit met bruine lijnen op de voorvleugels. Ook het lijf is bruin.
De soort komt voor van India tot het noordoosten van Australië.
De rups is polyfaag en veroorzaakt schade bij de teelt van mango, Buchanania muelleri en Waringin.
