Astrapogon alutus és una espècie de peix pertanyent a la família dels apogònids.^[4]

Descripció

• Pot arribar a fer 6,5 cm de llargària màxima.^[5][6]

Hàbitat

És un peix marí, associat als esculls^[7] i de clima subtropical (37°N-9°N).^[5]

Distribució geogràfica

Es troba a l'Atlàntic occidental: des de Carolina del Nord (els Estats Units) i el nord-est del golf de Mèxic fins a la costa septentrional de Veneçuela. És absent de les illes Bahames.^{[5][8][9][10][11]}

Observacions

És inofensiu per als humans.^[5]

Astrapogon alutus is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van kardinaalbaarzen (Apogonidae).^[2] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1882 door Jordan & Gilbert.
