This species can reach a maximum length of 11 centimetres (4.3 in) TL.[2] This species feeds on benthic crustaceans (amphipods, isopods, ostracods) and also takes other fishes.[3]

Clinus nematopterus is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van beschubde slijmvissen (Clinidae).[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1861 door Günther.
