Toledonia striata Thiele, 1912: 219, pl. 14, fig. 16; Powell, 1960: 162; Marcus, 1976: 29.
MATERIAL EXAMINED: NZOI Stns A449, A468, A470; Eltanin Stn 2005; USNM 612743[corrected to read: 612742], 73°19'S, 169°15'E, Cape Adare, 100 m; USNM, 77°26S, 169°30'E, McMurdo Sound, 321 m.
DISTRIBUTION: Previously known only from Gauss Station (89°E), T. striata can now be recorded from the Ross Sea in 100-870 m.
DISCUSSION: The protoconch and first teleoconch whorl are sculptured by spiral rows of punctae. The last whorl is more inflated than in T. major (Hedley) but less than in T. globosa Hedley. The major distinguishing feature is the series of fairly deeply incised, regularly punctate spiral grooves over the base of the last whorl. The rest of the shell surface is lined by rather irregular, very fine, incised spiral striae. The columella is thickened, more or less straight, often marked near the angle between the parietal and columellar lips by a pair of faint, oblique furrows. Measurements are given in Table 21.
