Las especies del género Potanthus se alimentan de plantas de las familias Poaceae, Flagellariaceae, Rutaceae, Iridaceae. Las plantas hospederas reportadas incluyen los géneros Bambusa, Setaria, Oryza, Paspalum, Saccharum, Flagellaria, Imperata, Citrus, Dendrocalamus, Dinochloa, Oxytenanthera, Schizostachyum, Cymbopogon, Miscanthus, Iris.[4][5]
