Achnanthes brevipes is a species of diatoms in the family Achnanthaceae. They are native to Rio Grande Do Sul, Santa Catarina, Alagoas, Bahia, SãO Paulo, Paraná, Rio De Janeiro, Pernambuco, Maranhao, and Rio Grande Do Norte. Dead Achnanthes brevipes form siliceous oozes.
