“Plants monoecious, whorls distant to confluent, sometimes pressed, spherical or barrel-shapes, 257-972 mm in diameter with 1-11 carposporophytes exserted or within the whorls at various distance from the axis; main axis with cortication, consisting of cylindrical cells only; carposporophytes spherical, pedicellate, 40-139 mm in diameter, gonimoblast filaments of 2-4 cylindrical cells; carpogonia 20-68 mm long with club-shaped or lanceolate trichogynes 5-17 mm in diameter; carpogonium branch undifferentiated, 3-10 cells long; carposporangia obovoidal 8-16 mm long, 6-12 mm in diameter.”
