Test coiled, planispiral, umbilicate, with chambers increasing rapidly in height; wall proteinaceous and flexible, hence test commonly is somewhat flattened, smooth, and translucent; aperture equatorial, areal, a single arched opening or two symmetrical openings low in the apertural face, surrounded by a raised margin.
