Stalked peritrich ciliate, cell about 40 micrometres long. Body elongate, urn-shaped or conical, twice as long as it is wide; mounted obliquely, almost at right angles to the stalk. Pellicle with fine transverse annulations. Stalks short, usually less than twice the length of the body. Freshwater.
