They are native to Georgia, Japan, Asia, Afghanistan, Austria, Slovenia, Africa, Slovakia, Ukraine, Hungary, Poland, Turkey, Greece, Iran, North Korea, Czech Republic, Libya, Bulgaria, Europe, Germany, Russia, Croatia, Uzbekistan, Morocco, Spain, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Portugal, China, Taiwan, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, South Korea, Romania, Kazakhstan, the Palearctic, Algeria, and Albania. They are diurnal herbivores. They have parental care (female provides care). They rely on flight to move around.
