This genus is represented in SE Australia by <i>B pictipenne</i> an early spring species (July onward) that is often very common. Males may be found hilltopping and maintaining territories of 1 to 2 m in open patches. Often seen feeding on <i> Leucopogon melaleucoides</i> flowers.
