Procumbent to erect annual, branches appressed pubescent. Leaf pinnately compound, leaflets 4-14, 5-35 mm long, 0.5-5 mm broad, narrowly linear to oblanceolate, retuse, sometimes acuminate to obtuse; stipules 3-4 mm, semi-hastate; tendrils simple or branched. Flowers solitary axillary, pedicel 6-9 mm long. Calyx 6-9 mm long, mouth oblique, teeth unequal, almost as long as the tube. Corolla purplish red, violet or sometimes white. Vexillum 12-21 mm long. Fruit 1.5-4.0 cm long, 6-11 mm broad, narrowly oblong, appressed pubescent or sometimes glabrous, 3-7-seeded.
