Rhododendron ponticum (Pontic Rhododendron) is a species of woody plants in the family Ericaceae. They are native to Portugal, Spain, Georgia, Russia, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Lebanon. They have capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Honey bee, Xylota jakutorum, Merodon equestris, and Syrphid fly.
