Test arborescent, with basal trunk that may show irregular growth constrictions but is nonseptate, followed by a rapid expansion of tightly spaced nonseptate branchlets that repeatedly divide dichotomously, each successive division resulting in a marked decrease in tube diameter, tips of the branchlets rounded or knoblike; wall agglutinated of fine grained or clay particles and with a very thin inner organic layer.
