I was not expecting a lupine this exotic to appear right on the trail next to the trailhead cabins on Big Pine Creek. You can see parked truck in the background. I was truly pleased with finding this specimen and suprised to identify it as this taxon. Hair on banner back is difficult to see without microscope and good light.
