Salvia indica is definitely the most beautiful sage in Israel. I know this picture is so flashed, but otherwise I couldn't have got the patter of the flowers well. The plant is rare and protected, 1-2 m. tall. It has a leaf rossette at base and an erect branched inflorescence.

This is the most beautifukl sage in Israel and the eastern Mediterraenan. Locally it is endangered, growing in the higher areas of Judean Mts, the Galilee and the Golan Heights. It is a great garden plant as well, producing tall flowered stems.

This is one of the rare sages of Israel, growing mainly in the north part of the country. We peopagate it succesfully at the Jerusalem Botanical Garden. The seeds germinate and produce a small leaf rosette and bloom at the second year. The inflorescence is up to 1.5 m. tall and the flower colour is unique (as you can see in the pic).
