They are native to Mata Atlântica, The Contiguous United States, SãO Paulo, Pará, Santa Catarina, Paraná, Puerto Rico, Amapá, Alagoas, Distrito Federal, Espirito Santo, Minas Gerais, Sergipe, GoiáS, Tocantins, Ceará, AmazôNia, Roraima, Mato Grosso, ParaíBa, Rio Grande Do Sul, Cerrado, Piauí, Mato Grosso Do Sul, RondôNia, Maranhao, Acre (Brazil), Bahia, Rio De Janeiro, Pernambuco, Pantanal, and Rio Grande Do Norte. They have compound, broad leaves. They have alternation of generations.
