Diagnosis: mouth subinferior; one pair of barbels, as long as eye diameter (Ref. 81639). Description: medium-sized species, body compressed; lower lip continuous; scales longitudinally striated; scale formula: 4.5/26/4.5/2.5/12; D: III-IV, 9-10; A: III, 5; P: 18; V: 10; lateral line complete; dorsal fin with feeble concave border, last simple ray strong and ossified, not serrated, as long as or longer than head (Ref. 81639).Coloration: ground color brown, darker dorsally, paler ventrally, with metallic silver reflections on flanks; pectoral and pelvic fins grey (Ref. 81639).
