Abutilon theophrasti (China Jute) is a species of annual herb in the family mallows. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They have simple, broad leaves and loculicidal capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Cothonaspis, Cheilosia hoodiana, Trupanea mevarna, and Toxoneuron abdominale. Individuals can grow to 1.4 m.
