Abelmoschus esculentus (Okra) is a species of annual herb in the family mallows. They have a self-supporting growth form. They have simple, broad leaves and capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Melissodes bimaculatus, Ptilothrix bombiformis, and Tetralonia obscuriceps. Individuals can grow to 1.3 m.
