Melinna are invertebrate polychaets under the Annelida phylum and have only been found recently in the fossil record. They are marine creatures generally found on the California Coast (“Melinna Malmgren”). Characteristically, they are live in less enriched areas associated with soft-mud faunal communities with more oxygen availability (Barnes). Melinna have various types of feeding strategies, including deposit feeding, interface feeding, and suspension feeding (“Melinna Malmgren”).
