Cathartolinum elongatum Small, sp. no v Plants 2-3.5 dm. tall, deep-green. Stems branched at the base, the branches, mostly assurgent, striate or somewhat angled, corymbosely branched above, the branches of the inflorescence greatly elongated, erect or ascending; leaves rather numerous, but not crowded, ascending or spreading, the blades somewhat succulent, those of the lower leaves linear-spatulate and 1-2 cm. long, those of the upper ones very narrowly linear and about twice as long as those of the lower ones, all entire ; bracts linear-attenuate, rather inconspicuouslv glandular-toothed; outer sepals linear-lanceolate, becoming 11-14 mm. long, attenuate, quite evenly glandular-toothed ; inner sepals lanceolate, broader than the outer ones, and more closely toothed ; petals yellow, longer than the sepals ; capsules not seen.
