Echium plantagineum (Purple Viper's Bugloss) is a species of annual herb in the family Boraginaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Eufala Skipper, Amegilla canifrons, Amegilla, and Anthophora alluaudi. Individuals can grow to 52 cm.
