Rhamnus alaternus is a species of shrub in the family Rhamnaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Ukraine, Tunisia, mediterranean region, Italy, Israel, Algeria, France, Libya, Albania, Spain, Morocco, Portugal, Cyprus, Greece, Yugoslavia, and Turkey. They have simple, broad leaves and fleshy fruit. Individuals can grow to 5 m.
