Polygala polymorpha Chod. Bot. Jahrb. 52: Beibl 115: 74. 1914.
Stems few, appressed-pubescent, 1-2 dm. long; leaves varied, from ovate or lance-oblong to linear-lanceolate or linear, 2-3.5 cm. long, 3-17 mm. wide, mucronate, sparsely and minutely appressed-puberulous; racemes few-flowered, terminal; flowers 6-7 mm. long; sepals lancelinear, acute ; wings oblong-elliptic, glabrous, scarcely clawed ; keel elongate ; capsule oblong, with broadish sinus, hirsute, cuneate at base, 9 mm. long; seed hirsute; aril capitelliform, with two slender descending lateral lobes a third as long as seed, and a prolonged twisted dorsal lobe.
Type locality: Limestone hills of Chacula, Huehuetenango, Guatemala. Distribution: Known only from the type locality.
