Stems several, erect, about 3.5 dm. high, griseous-puberulous with appressed hairs; leaves lanceolate, ovate or oval, 1.5-5 cm. long, 8-17 mm. wide, acute or obtuse, cuspidulate, not reticulate, above dull-green, beneath paler, puberulous with appressed hairs; flowers apparently ochroleucous; sepals oblong-ovate, acutish, 3.8-5 mm. long; wings oval or broadly elliptic, 6.5-9 mm. long, 4.5-5.8 mm. wide, rounded at apex, cuneate at base, ciliolate, incurved-puberulous at base and apex and along costa; keel 6.8-8 mm. long; capsule oval, ciliolate, sparsely incurvedpuberulous laterally, 8 mm. long; mature seed unknown.
Type locality: Lava fields above Cuernavaca, Morelos. Distribution: Sinaloa to Tepic, Puebla, and Oaxaca.
