Diagnosis: last simple dorsal-fin ray smooth on hind margin; scale formula 4.5-5.5/27-29/4.5; 2.5 scales between lateral line and pelvic-fin base; 12 scales around caudal peduncle; 7 branched dorsal fin rays; two pairs of short barbels; anterior barbel not reaching to anterior margin of eye; posterior barbel not extending beyond centre of eye/reaching to, or extending beyond, posterior half of eye; lateral line complete and slightly depressed below dorsal fin; maximum reported size 30 mm SL; no black spot on dorsal fin; more or less distinct dark band along middle of sides (Ref. 2940, 81282). Description: dorsal profile convex; mouth subterminal; D: III,7; A: III,5; P: 13-14; V: I,7(Ref. 2940, 81282).Coloration: lateral-line scales black-edged; black longitudinal band along middle of sides, separated from lateral line by half scale below dorsal fin (Ref. 2940, 81282).
