Hellenia speciosa (Cane Reed) is a species of perennial herb in the family Costaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Puerto Rico and Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Asian Weaver Ant, Monkey Puzzle, and Grass Demon. Individuals can grow to 12 m.
