Leaf-blades hastate, often broadly so, 5-10 cm. long or more, glabrous above, except on the veins, copiously pubescent beneath, rather long-petioled, the lobes acute or acuminate, entire or sinuate ; peduncles and pedicels pubescent, sepals ovate, 3-4 mm. long, the gland one half the length of the sepal-body or more ; larger petals 9-11 mm. long ; samaras not seen.
Type locality : Santo Domingo.
Distribution: Hispaniola ; also in eastern South America as far south as Uruguay.

Leaf-blades pinnately 5-7-parted, broadly ovate in outline, 9-15 cm. long, with the two lower lobes falcate and often again lobed, glabrous above except about the veins, palepubescent beneath, long-petioled, the lobes mostly oblong to lanceolate; peduncles and pedicels pubescent; sepals oval or suborbicular, 2.5-3.5 mm. long, the glands fully one half the length of the sepal-bod}; larger petals about 15 mm. long; samaras not seen.
Type locality : Hispaniola. Distribution : Hispaniola to Brazil.
