Diagnosis: This species is distinguished from its congener Luciobarbus nasus by the combination of following characters: a more rounded snout, although relatively elongated; a wider interorbital space; the ossified ray of the dorsal fin is shorter and weaker; and a shorter pectoral fin.Description: Dorsal fin with 3 unbranched rays and 8 branched rays; the third simple ray is ossified and finely denticulated posteriorly; anal fin with 3 unbranched rays and 5 branched rays (Ref. 114102).Colouration: The colouration is violet brown or olive on the dorsal side and flanks, yellow or orange on the ventral side (Ref. 114102).
