Solanum viarum (Tropical Soda Apple) is a species of shrub in the family nightshades. It has a self-supporting growth form. It is native to West Indies, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Honduras, Paraná, Distrito Federal, Pantanal, Amazônia, Minas Gerais, Cerrado, Espirito Santo, Goiás, Rio de Janeiro, Pampa, Santa Catarina, Acre (Brazil), Rio Grande do Sul, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, São Paulo, Bahia, Mata Atlântica, and Rondônia. Tropical Soda Apple has simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Augochloropsis. Tropical Soda Apple is a photoautotroph. Individuals can grow to 0.3 m.
