DISTRIBUTION: Described from Gauss Station (89°E), Leptocollonia innocens has only been recorded subsequently by Powell (1958) from five stations between 49°F and 89°E (193-393 m) and by Egorova (1982) from the Davis Sea. It can now be recorded from six stations in the Ross Sea (315-549 m) and from the Weddell Sea (378 m). Although reported on so few occasions, the scattered records indicate a circumantarctic distribution.”
