Description

Shrub or small tree up to 8 m. Milky sap present. Branchlets grey, rough, spotted with lenticels. Leaves elliptic to obovate-oblong, glossy light green, leathery, midrib indented above, prominent below. Flowers in small axillary or terminal clusters; corolla c. 10 mm in diameter, white with a yellow tube; lobes densely hairy. Fruit in paired, elliptical follicles, 5-15 cm long, rough and grey, dehiscent. Seeds tufted with golden silky hairs.
