Acanthospermum hispidum (Hispid Starbur) is a species of shrub in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Distrito Federal, Mata Atlântica, China, Piauí, Caatinga, Tocantins, Rio Grande Do Norte, Maranhao, SãO Paulo, Pará, GoiáS, ParaíBa, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Cerrado, Pampa, Santa Catarina, Ceará, Pernambuco, Rio De Janeiro, Acre (Brazil), Mato Grosso Do Sul, Paraná, Alagoas, Espirito Santo, Amazônia, Bahia, Pantanal, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande Do Sul, Mato Grosso, and Sergipe. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.54 m.
