Senecio vulgaris (Groundsel) is a species of annual herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Lithuania, Morocco, Hungary, Belarus, Denmark, Russia, Finland, Georgia, Austria, Yugoslavia, United Kingdom, Spain, Latvia, Switzerland, Greece, Poland, Algeria, Faroe Islands, South Korea, Romania, China, Ukraine, Albania, Moldova, Portugal, Italy, Estonia, Libya, Sweden, Bulgaria, Iceland, North Korea, Ireland, Germany, Tunisia, The Netherlands, Belgium, Iran, Czech Republic, France, and Norway. They have simple, simple leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by Anthophora bimaculata, Strymon melinus, Nomada flavopicta, and Sphaerophoria. Individuals can grow to 1.5 feet.
