Gutierrezia sarothrae (Broom Snakeweed) is a species of shrub in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to North America, United States, Canada, Western North America, The Contiguous United States, and Eastern North America. They have simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by Woodland Skipper, Common Checkered Skipper, Pearl Crescent, and Villa alternata. Individuals can grow to 1.5 feet.
