Vizzini Image location: Borovoye National Park, Akmola District, Kazakhstan Bonomyces sinopicus (Fr.) Vizzini Small reddish-brown mushroom with sunken cap centre and descending gills Cap: 2-5 cm wide, slightly convex when young, then with depressed centre, often indistinct concentric ring or radial grooved with wavy margin, light orange-brown up to brownish-orange, glossy in dry weather. Flesh is white, odour is pleasant. Gills: descending stalk, whitish up to yellowish-white when old, narrow, rather close with short and very short additional gills. Stalk: 4-5 cm long, 0.5-0.8cm thick, some fibrous, dull reddish-brown, stiff. Edibility: no accurate data for this location. Habitat: common after rains; scattered small groups in pine-tree forest with rare birches, mainly in open places. Season: June-July. Recognized by sight
