Mugil cephalus (Black Mullet) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family mullets. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Mediterranean Sea, Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, and Indian Ocean. They are nocturnal omnivores. Individuals can grow to 120 cm. They have sexual reproduction. Reproduction is iteroparous and oviparous. They have parental care (female provides care). They rely on swimming to move around.
