描述

體延長,側扁。頭大, 體鬆弛,皮膚平滑,無鱗。吻極長。眼小。眼徑只有頭長之15%左右。口裂極大,但上頜後緣不及眼後緣;上下頜有細齒。鰓裂長。側線孔排列成互相平行之直列, 約有12行,第一列在鰓列稍後方, 各列間有一側線孔。背鰭與臀鰭對稱,位於體中點之後,背鰭鰭條數14-16,臀鰭鰭條數13-15;胸鰭鰭條數10-11;腹鰭位於肛門稍前方,其末端幾達臀鰭之起點;尾鰭微內彎。活體體呈橘褐色,口腔及鰓孔內側為橘紅色; 固定標本身體及口腔均為褐色。

棲地
