Dorosoma cepedianum (American Gizzard Shad) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family herrings. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to The Nearctic. Individuals can grow to 57 cm. They have sexual reproduction. They rely on swimming to move around.
