Description: Characterized by light brown color with 2-3 rows of large dark brown spots on body; sprinkling of smaller irregular dark brown spots on body and fins; body depth at gill opening 10-20 in TL; origin of dorsal fin about equidistant from corner of mouth to gill opening; anus anterior to middle of body; preanal length 2.2-2.3 in TL; single row of teeth in jaws, progressively longer anteriorly; juvenile may have inner row of several longer teeth on side of upper jaw; noticeably raised rim of posterior nostril (Ref. 90102).

體延長而呈圓柱狀,尾部側扁。吻短而鈍;頜齒單列,頜間齒為2-3個可倒伏的尖牙。脊椎骨數125-128。小魚體暗褐色,略帶紅紫,成魚體色由黃褐色至紅褐色。體側有2-4列褐斑,背、臀鰭上各具一排梳狀的褐斑,大斑點間有許多細小的褐斑點;前後鼻孔黃白色。
棲地
