Diagnosis

Physonectae with a biserial arrangement of nectophores in the nectosome, nectophores on the nectosome are budded off, with the exception of Athorybia which lacks them, on the dorsal side of the stem; the pallial canal consists of ascending and descending branches; the colonies are monoecious.
